A pair of lightweights who each own a little piece of UFC history will square off in a rematch at UFC on FOX 31.
Charles Oliveira will meet Jim Miller on the Dec. 15 card in Milwaukee, UFC.com reported Wednesday.
Oliveira (24-8, 1 no-contest) is coming off a first-round submission win over Christos Grigos at UFC Sao Paulo in September. That was his second straight win and third in his past four fights. It was also his 11th submission victory in the UFC, which topped the previous career mark set by UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie.
The popular Miller (29-12, 1 NC) is coming off an inspiring first-round finish of Alex White at UFC 228. It snapped a four-fight losing streak, suffered as Miller dealt with the effects of Lyme disease. The win over White marked Miller’s record 30th Octagon appearance.
The bout is a rematch of a fight contested at UFC 124. Miller used a kneebar to finish Oliveira at 1:59 of the opening round in Montreal, which earned the New Jersey native a Submission of the Night bonus.
UFC on FOX 31, which is the final network television card of the UFC’s FOX deal before switching to ESPN next year, is headlined by Kevin Lee vs. Al Iaquinta.
