IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. (24-0, 21 KOs) got a chance to see the new transformation his opponent Mikey Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) has made with his physique in bulking up for their fight over two months from now on March 16 on FOX Sports PPV. The normally skinny looking Mikey has packed on a massive amount of muscle in a short period of time in getting ready for the fight. Spence says Mikey looks like he’s on steroids.

“He [Mikey] ain’t going to get where I’m trying to be at and where I’m trying to go,” Spence said to H Money about Mikey Garcia. In two weeks, [Mikey] got swoll and look like Kangaroo Jack on steroids.”
Spence seems to be amused at Mikey’s efforts to pack on muscle in hopes of beating him. One gets the sense from listening to Spence talk, he doesn’t see Mikey’s efforts at adding muscle as one that will pay off for him. Spence appears to see it as desperation on Mikey’s part in making such a dramatic transformation with his physique. Saul Canelo Alvarez was able to successfully pack on a massive amount of muscle to defeat former middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin in a short period of time. Canelo also tested positive for a banned performance enhancing substance clenburtol last year in February.
Kangaroo Jack is an animated character from a 2003 Warner Brother’s movie. The Kangaroo is kind of muscular. Mikey has definitely packed on some muscle in hurry in getting ready for the fight with Spence, and he still has another 11 weeks to go before the fight. If the idea is for Mikey to continue to bulk up as much as possible for the fight with the unbeaten 28-year-old Spence, then he’s got a lot of time to do it.READ Mikey Garcia looking huge for Errol Spence fight
Mikey is going to have to catch Spence with something big early on if he’s to have a shot at getting the ‘W’ on March 16. Spence hits too hard for Mikey to take his time in going after him with his power shots. If Spence comes out of the blocks the way he did against his last opponent Carlos Ocampo or in his fight with Chris Algieri. When Spence starts fast, it’s difficult for his opponents to stay in there with him any length of time unless he slows up and takes it easy on them like he appeared to do in his match against Lamont Peterson last year in January.
