The World Boxing Association (WBA), the world’s oldest boxing sanctioning body will celebrate its 98th Convention from the 6th to the 11th of November in the City of Fuzhou in Jiangxi Province, China, announced yesterday the President of the WBA Gilberto Jesus Mendoza.

The important gathering will be the WBA’s second convention in the land of Dr.  Sun Yat-sen since the Chengdu Convention in 2007.    This year, Chinese good-luck winds foretell a total success for this Convention in China after resounding thumbs up hits in Panama in 2015 and Medellin in 2017.

“The principal objective of the World Boxing Association (WBA) Convention is to get together our regular members, our officials, our regional bodies as well as our directors to discuss and analyze different subjects related to the world of boxing,” stated Mendoza.

“In addition, we will be carrying out our seminars for physicians as well as seminars for those members of the WBA who play a very important role in our world title fights: our officials, doctors, federations and commissions” shared the WBA President.

The agenda of activities includes arrival of attendants on November 6, a general assembly for November 7 as well as meetings with promoters and a medical seminar for November 8.

A seminar for WBA International Judges will unfold on November 9.   The next day will be for conclusions, recommendations, and a boxing event organized by WBA China will be carried out that evening.    Attendants say goodbye to China for their flights back home on November 11.

Registration fee for the Convention is US $ 299.00.

Companion (husband, wife or children) pay US $ 149.00

There is a 10% discount if registration is paid before October 15.
